What to practise
Use EssayStep to plan and revise argument paragraphs for IELTS writing practice. Start by identifying the instruction in your chosen prompt. This page focuses on essay reasoning; it does not promise automatic interpretation of charts or an official band score.
An original practice prompt
Some cities are considering free public transport. Should they make fares free before improving service frequency? Choose a position, one specific situation and a reason the situation supports your position. This is an original exercise, not an official exam question.
A practical outline
Claim: frequency can matter more than fare for early-shift workers. Example: a worker starts before the first bus arrives. Explanation: removing the fare would not fix that scheduling problem. Limitation: affordability still matters for people who already have a usable route.
How to use the feedback
Draft the paragraph yourself, then ask which exact sentence leaves the relationship unclear. Revise one gap and keep a note of why you changed it. Treat any AI judgement as advice to check against the task and official assessment guidance.
Before a test
Consult the official IELTS preparation material for current task requirements and assessment criteria. EssayStep is an independent learning tool, unaffiliated with IELTS. AI feedback needs login; planning and drafting can be tried without an account.
