Choose the actual task first
Open current ETS preparation guidance and identify the task you need to practise. Exam formats can change. EssayStep offers writing practice and a mixture of authored exercises and external source indexes; an indexed resource is not a guarantee of current exam-format coverage.
Practise a focused contribution
Original exercise: A university is deciding whether to keep its library open later. Write a short response explaining one benefit or drawback and support it with a specific student situation. This is general skill practice, not a reproduction of an ETS item.
Make the example do work
A student who finishes a laboratory session at eight may need a quiet place afterwards. Explain how that situation supports later opening, and state a relevant condition such as staffing capacity. A list of attractive adjectives will not establish the relationship.
Revise independently
Use feedback to locate a missing reason or unsupported generalization. Write your own repair, compare the two versions and explain the change. Then respond to a new situation without copying the original paragraph.
